Our history
The firm Dolci was established in 1910 by Arturo Dolci; his son, Mario, pursued the business, getting over the critical period of The Second World War and other economical crises.
The hard job of selecting, making and working of earth colours and pigments (so important to art and restoration) has been handed down for four generations.
Natural earths are well-known for their inimitable shades and their semi-transparency. They can be used with very different substances (oil, wax, natural and synthetic resins, lime, etc.)
The requirement to come back to old-time colour effects and the attention to use natural and ecologic products has driven the firm Dolci to rediscover old recipes and to produce grassello, marmorino, plaster, lime paints, earth paints and casein paints. These products are much appreciated also in the biobuilding field.
The firm Dolci works earth pigments, limes, waxes and resins with expertness and passion. The Dolci devote more and more of their time to finding and selecting original materials, and they face the hard job of divulging traditional, almost forgotten techniques.
